Novel blockchain welcomed by Dapper Labs

Dapper Labs, the company behind CryptoKitties and upcoming projects announced funding and the development of a novel blockchain. This news emerged on 12 September.

Dapper Labs initiated by adding that the new blockchain, named Flow, was developed as a solution to the problem of blockchain scalability for consumer applications. The blockchain gaming firm further added that in addition to launching Flow, the company also announced 11 million U.S. dollars in new funding. There were also partnerships with leading entertainment publishers like Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, and Animoca Brands.

Roham Gharegozlou, CEO of Dapper Labs expressed – 

“After almost two years of research, we’re excited to share Flow with the world. Flow is a blockchain built from the ground up to support high performance ecosystems of apps and games without compromising decentralization. Bitcoin and Ethereum show how crypto can make the world of finance more open and transparent; Flow will do the same for consumers of entertainment and culture.”

Dapper Labs maintained that some of the types of experiences Flow would support, for instance, artists or bands using crypto tokens to give lots of fans new ways to show their support. The firm further gave an example of games that reward players for adding value and identities that users can take across numerous open environments. Finally, there could be a platform for sports fans around the world to trade memorabilia in real-time.

Novel blockchain welcomed by Dapper Labs

Jeff Bronikowski, SVP, Global Digital Business Development and Head of Innovation and Emerging Technology at Warner Music Group said that they were always searching for new opportunities for artists. Jeff summarized by stating that they were dedicated to exploring emerging technologies.

National Basketball Association (NBA), National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) and Dapper Labs announced the development of NBA Top Shot, a new digital platform for basketball fans. Dapper Labs added that the new digital platform for basketball fans would allow collecting, trade, and own some of the greatest moments in league history. These facilities would be availed on the blockchain.

Dapper Labs announced the launch of its new blockchain game Cheeze Wizards. Dapper Labs highlighted that in Cheeze Wizards, players can summon Wizards to fight in magical duels and compete to become the Big Cheeze. The company added that the game is a social, crypto-oriented application in which players compete in a global tournament for the title.
