BTG Pactual and Dalma Capital leveraging Tezos for STO

BTG Pactual together with Dalma Capital announced plans to utilize the Tezos blockchain for Security Token Offerings (STOs). This development was on 03 July.

The duo firms introduced by noting BTG Pactual is Latin America’s largest standalone investment bank whereas Dalma Capital is a prominent Dubai asset manager. The duo noted that Tezos blockchain would be used for ongoing REITBZ STO also. The duo added that by using the new platform for digital securities transactions, they were bringing the power of Tezos to tokenize a wide array of digital assets.

The duo noted that as governments globally and in the Middle East take steps to introduce digitization initiatives across industries, blockchain spending globally is set to reach 2.9 billion U.S. dollars this year, and 307 million U.S. dollars in the middle east in the coming two years. The duo firms commended Tezos blockchain as a self-amending blockchain and smart contracts platform. The duo believed Tezos blockchain would spur digitization efforts.

The duo noted that BTG Pactual was the first major investment bank to officially launch an STO. This was after their plans to launch ReiBZ. BTG Pactual has since successfully launched the real estate backed token on the Ethereum protocol. Dalma Capital was working with BTG Pactual on their STO pipeline by partnering as joint-bookrunner for ReiBZ. The duo conveyed that Tezos blockchain would be used for other upcoming asset tokenization projects.

Recently, an STO was offered by TokenMarket. TokenMarket emphasized that this was one of the first UK retail offerings of tokenized equity which could be leveraged by investors to buy equity tokens at less prices. TokenMarket indicated that after the event, it would set itself apart from the boundaries of Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a fully regulated investment platform.
